Alpinia caerulea

Also known as native peach, the quandong tree is found in the rainforest regions of Queensland and New South Wales.​

Flowers from Autumn through Winter and edible fr​uits available in Spring. Separate the bright blue skin of the fruit from the greenish flesh. Aboriginal people are said to have mixed the flesh with water to make an edible paste.

The fruit is said to have a vitamin C content higher than oranges.
