Grevillea

There are more than 350 species of grevillea in Australia and most have colourful flowers.

Aboriginal people cherished grevillea blossoms which have since been found to be rich in Vitamin C. The flowers were soaked in a bowl of water to make a sweet drink. Occasionally the flowers were sucked or tapped on the hand to collect the nectar.

Birds, such as honeyeaters and lorikeets are attracted to the nectar.
