Grevillea
Grevillea
There are more than 350 species of grevillea in Australia and most have colourful flowers.
A
boriginal people cherished grevillea blossoms which have since been found to be rich in Vitamin C. The flowers were soaked in a bowl of water to make a sweet drink. Occasionally the flowers were sucked or tapped on the hand to collect the nectar.
B
irds, such as honeyeaters and lorikeets are
attracted to the nectar.
